From the President's Desk:
Good Morning Boston College!
It is my pleasure to welcome you all back to school, and to the President and Vice-President’s blog! Kudzai and I hope to use this as an effective tool to communicate all the different things UGBC is doing over the course of this year, while also using it as an opportunity to answer any lingering questions or concerns that you all may have. For now, I hope that the school year has gotten off to a good start and that you are all transitioning well as you face all of the new challenges and experiences that await you this year. I will be speaking at the Stayer Hall dedication on today after manning the table at the Student Involvement Fair. Feel free to come up and say “hey,” get more information, or voice a concern that you might have!
Once Kudzai and I have established office hours, we will post them here so that, if you like, you can stop into our offices and have a chat with us. We’re going to do everything we can to be here for you guys this year, so be sure to use us!
Welcome back everyone, and I hope everyone is ready for a great year!
01-28-2012: Dear Fellow Eagles
Jill and I want to welcome you all back to BC and we hope that you are all
having a great start to this spring semester. We are very excited to be back and are
looking forward to a great semester where the UGBC will again become the
organization that all students can go to with their concerns or suggestions. We want
to create a conversation this semester between the UGBC and all students on
campus and are using this blog to start the conversation. We are also unveiling some
new ways to facilitate this conversation such as our new website, which will allow
us to have polls to get your input. Additionally, you will also see more State of the
Heights and a new video campaign where UGBC will come to you to hear your
thoughts and concerns. This semester we promise to show you that the UGBC is
listening and working for you to get what you want, such as a spring concert in
We appreciate all of your support and hope you get the chance to check out
the new website that is full of resources for you. We also look forward to hearing
what you have to say and working to make what you want a reality.
Mike and Jill
11-08-2011: Welcome Back!
Thursday, September 8, 2011
Welcome back to BC! We wanted to write our first official blog post to introduce ourselves to you and to welcome you all back to (or to, for freshmen!) school. Be sure to keep checking this blog, as we’ll be updating it frequently with important information that you won’t want to miss! We are definitely hoping to accomplish all that we set forth in our platform throughout the year, as well as to tackle issues on hand that have arisen over the summer, such as the issue of concerts. We view this as a great way for everyone to get involved on campus and to focus on a concern that affects a large portion of students at this school. We welcome and encourage all students to express their suggestions and opinions via our Twitter account, @ugbcconcerts, and our e-mail, firstname.lastname@example.org. We also hope that you enjoy the new student involvement fair this Friday from 10-4 on Linden Lane, which will be a great opportunity to get involved at BC as well. We’re hoping to start this year off strong and already have a lot of exciting things going on, such as our awesome new website which will be launched in the next three weeks. We look forward to seeing you around on campus, and if you have any questions feel free to stop by and talk to us, as we’ll be having office hours starting next week in the UGBC offices, which are located on the second floor of Campanella. If you haven’t checked out the second floor yet, please don’t hesitate to come by within these hours or even outside these hours, as there are always people around the office that would be happy to answer your questions. Hope your year is off to a great start and that you’re as excited to back at BC as we are!
Mike’s Office Hours: Monday and Wednesday 12noon – 2pm
Jill’s Office Hours: Tuesday and Thursday 3:30-5:30 pm
